1. INTRODUCTION

Proofstead LLC ("we" or "us") respects the privacy of our users ("user" or "you"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit Proofstead.com and use the Platform.

2. COLLECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION

We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect includes:

Personal Data: Personally identifiable information, such as your name, address, email address, and telephone number, that you voluntarily give to us when you register, request service, or communicate with support.

Account and Log Data: Information such as IP address, device identifiers, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps when you access or use the Platform.

Financial Data: Financial information related to your payment method that may be processed when you purchase or pay for services. We store only very limited, if any, financial information we collect. Otherwise, financial information is stored by our payment processor(s) (e.g., Stripe).

Property and Job Data: Information regarding your home address, specific repair needs, and photos or documents you upload to the TownPulse ledger for documentation purposes.

Communications Data: The contents of messages you send to us and records of transactional communications we send to you relating to Platform activity.

3. USE OF YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to:

  • - Route your service request to a Contractor within our Service Area (currently Washington State).
  • - Provide TownPulse documentation features, including written scope, written change orders, and standardized invoices.
  • - Send account and job-status notifications via email and, if enabled, SMS.
  • - Process payments and prevent fraudulent transactions.
  • - Maintain the security and integrity of the Platform and improve features.

4. DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

We may share your information in certain situations, including:

Third-Party Service Providers: We may share your information with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf, including payment processing (e.g., Stripe), hosting and database services (e.g., Firebase), analytics, email delivery (e.g., Mailgun), SMS delivery (if enabled), and customer support tools.

Contractors for Requested Service: We share only the information reasonably necessary to facilitate the specific service you requested (e.g., contact details, job details, photos relevant to scope). We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

5. EMAIL AND MARKETING PREFERENCES

Transactional emails may be sent as needed to deliver Platform services and account notices. If you opt in to marketing emails, you can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe mechanism in the email. We will honor unsubscribe requests for marketing emails.

6. SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. Despite these efforts, no security measures are perfect, and no method of transmission can be guaranteed.

7. DATA RETENTION

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Platform, maintain records for legitimate business purposes, and comply with legal obligations. TownPulse documentation may be retained to preserve the integrity of job records.

8. POLICY FOR CHILDREN

We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to children under the age of 18. If you become aware of any data we have collected from children under age 18, please contact us.
